Frederick J “Fred” SABA11 (Isber and Ramza / Michael and Catherine) was born on 4 Aug 1907 in Dubois, Clearfield, Pennsylvania, USA and died on 17 May 1976 in Akron, Summit, Ohio, USA10 at age 68. The cause of his death was severe lungs & heart failure.

Frederick J. Saba, 68, of 232 Westover dr., Akron, died May 17, 1976 at Akron General Medical Center following a short illness.

He was self-employed and was a partner with his brothers in the supermarket business, serving Akron and Barberton for 30 years, retiring in 1973. He was born in DuBois, Pa., and lived in Akron since 1920, a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Sebastian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia G.; sister, Clara L. Saba, of Akron; five brothers, Mitchell I., William J., Edward, Henri, all of Akron and George J. of Alliance.

Friends may call at the Hennessy Funeral Home, 936 N. Main st., 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral mass 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Sebastian Church. Parish Wake Service will be at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. (Hennessy, Akron, 535-1518).

Research Notes: “Fred” last lived at 232 Westover Drive in Akron and had his own grocery store in the Akron area.

Fred served in WW II per his DC. Was in the U.S. Army at time of his mother’s death, July 1942.

Frederick married Amelia GEORGE12 about 1930 in Akron, Summit, Ohio, USA. Amelia was born on 23 Apr 1913 in Johnstown, Cambria, Pennsylvania, USA and died on 15 Jun 1981 in Akron, Summit, Ohio, USA4 at age 68. The cause of her death was Myocardial Infarction. Frederick and Amelia had no children.

Amelia H. Saba, 68, of 232 Westover Drive, passed away June 15 at Akron General Medical Center following a short illness.

Born in Johnstown, Pa., she was a resident of the Akron area 49 years, and retired ten years ago as a school teacher in the Akron Public Schools with 36 years service. Her last assignment was in Glover Grade School. She was a member of St. Sebastian’s Church, and a graduate of Akron University.

She is survived by sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Weninger of Akron, and Mrs. Elizabeth Cantos, Johnstown, PA.

Mass of the Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Sebastian’s Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home. 936 N. Main St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. (Hennessy-Bagnoli Akron, 376-4251)
