Willimantic Daily Chronicle (front page), Friday, 7 Oct 1955:

Fadlou Saba, of 33 High Street, prominent resident of the community, died this morning at the Windham Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was a retired clothing merchant and a member of the Syrian Orthodox Church. He was born in Syria, a son of Michael and Talgie (Mitry) Saba. Mr. Saba had resided in this city for many years and was widely esteemed in the community.

For about 50 years he operated a store here, most of which time it was located on Milk Street, but had been in retirement of about 20 years.

He leaves three sons, Edward, Alfred and Phosy Saba, all of this city; six grandchildren; and a brother, Mohanna Saba of Indiana, PA.

He was at all times solicitous of the well-being of his fellow residents and over the years exercised many unpublicized philanthropic activities.

He was a devoted husband and father and his passing will be genuinely mourned by his many friends in the community.
