\"\"<\/a>On Wednesday, May 2nd<\/sup>, my team Willington 2 played Willington 1 for the second time in a row.\u00a0 We started out playing much better than in our previous meeting with this team, allowing just one run in the first inning and batting well.\u00a0 The next inning, I was the very first batter, and I hit the first pitch.\u00a0 The ball grounded right to shortstop, and I was thrown out at first.\u00a0 In the third inning, with two outs, the ball was hit to me in left field, but it dropped in front of me. I didn\u2019t want to charge the ball to let it go by me.\u00a0 I felt bad because the other team scored five runs.\u00a0 In the next inning, our very first batter, Austin walked and that brought me up to bat.\u00a0 After swinging and missing, the pitcher pitched four straight balls to walk me.\u00a0 Later Austin and I both stole a base and the batter that was up walked to load the bases with no outs, which lead to a pitcher change.\u00a0 The new pitcher struck-out our next batter, but a passed ball allowed Austin to score our first run.\u00a0 I stole third on the past ball.\u00a0 After walking another batter, the bases were loaded again.\u00a0 The next batter hit the ball to third and he tagged the base, and threw it home, but I just barely beat the throw for our second run of the game.<\/p>\n

In the fourth inning, we allowed four runs, but with the base full and no outs, our pitcher struck out three batters in a row.\u00a0 The next inning we got a man on third and two outs when I came up to bat, and I struck-out leaving him stranded at third.\u00a0 We allowed no runs the same inning.\u00a0 We never got up to bat because the game was called due to darkness.\u00a0 We lost 10-2.\u00a0 We did much better in batting. \u00a0We had some errors on fielding but I think we did better.\u00a0 Our next game is at River Road against Willimantic, and I think we\u2019ll do better, and I think we\u2019ll get another win!<\/p>\n
