My First Time Seeing the King’s Singers

Posted by Josh on March 29, 2011 in Event, Theater |

On March 17, 2011, St. Patrick’s Day, my family and I went to see The King’s Singers perform at the Jorgenson Theater, on the University of Connecticut.   We got to sit in the front row!  It was my and my sister’s first time seeing them perform, my mom’s fourth time and my dad’s sixth.  In the first half of the performance, the King’s Singers sang 13 prearranged songs.  All thirteen songs I had never heard before, but they all had a nice rhythm.  One of the King’s singers, named Paul, I liked in particular.

In the second half of the performance, the King’s singers chose some of their favorite songs to sing.  Unlike the songs sung in the first half, two of the songs I had heard.  One of the songs that I have heard before was, “I’m Yours” as performed by “Jason Mraz”.  Paul sang the lead for this arrangement and he did a great job with the solo.  After they had sung all their songs, they went off stage.  We stood for a standing ovation, they came back on to sing one more song, Danny boy.  That officially ended the performance.

After the show, the King’s Singers came out into the lobby.  My sister and I got each of them to sign a photo of all the King’s singers.  We even got our picture taken with a few of them.  One of them was Paul.  Now that I’ve seen them once, I can’t wait to see them again!

They were amazing. We got to sit in the front row. They are probably the best singing group I’ve seen.
