A few weeks ago, I got some bantam chicks for showing in 4-H shows. On March 31st, I got Benny and Aprilย  two 2 week old Belgian Cochin ‘s . They are now one month and a week and a half old. Benny crowd his first crow today on April 26th at nine-o-clock in the morning. Then three days later I got six more chicks at two days old. They are now three weeks old. Their names are Fiona, June, Pom-Pom, Danielle, Polk-a-Dot, and Susie. We are not sure what gender they are yet, but we based it on how they act.

  1. Oh! I’m so glad to see I was right about the pair of D’Uccles! Wait til those white spots start coming in…they will begin to really blossom from here on out!
Let’s see if I can identify some of your bantams for you…Susie (girl) and Polka Dot (boy) look like Mottled Cochins, Danielle could be an Old English Game Bird, PomPom is a Silver Laced Cochin, and I’m guessing a rooster, not sure about June or Fiona. It looks like you’re having a lot of fun! Keep up the great work! ~Chrissy
